PowerPhotonic celebrated a successful SPIE Photonics West following its US factory opening and Light Tunnel Generator launch.

PowerPhotonic, designer and manufacturer of precision, wafer-scale optics, enjoyed a highly successful SPIE Photonics West exhibition in San Francisco – the world’s leading, photonics exhibition, representing the entire photonics supply chain. PowerPhotonic exhibited its full product range and showcased its new, metal-cutting, Light Tunnel Generator in the exhibition’s demonstration area.

Dr. Stephen Kidd, Head of Sales and Marketing, said, “SPIE Photonics West was a huge success for PowerPhotonic in terms of potential orders, new opportunities, key customer meetings and future growth. Exhibition foot fall was up by 30% on the last physical exhibition in 2022, demonstrating a recovery from Covid and an appetite for face-to-face meetings. We had a full schedule of planned meetings throughout the exhibition and the recorded number of visitors to our booth was up six-fold compared to 2022.

“Prior to Photonics West we had the unofficial opening of our new, US manufacturing facility, in Sahuarita, Arizona; clearing us to supply the US defence sector. This US expansion created particular interest amongst defence industry visitors. Similarly, our new Light Tunnel Generator beam shaper, which modifies laser cutting, welding, and drilling equipment for improved performance and productivity, brought specific interest from sheet metal fabrication and welding equipment manufacturers.

“Photonics West was PowerPhotonic’s fourth exhibition in four months, following a highly successful SPIE Photonex in Birmingham; the EuroBLECH sheet metal fabrication exhibition in Hannover; and the SPIE ‘Sensors and Imaging’ exhibition in Berlin.”
