World leader in precision laser micro-optics showcases innovative and flexible freeform optics, which maximise performance of high power laser systems, at Photonics West 2019.

PowerPhotonic, experts in the field of high precision micro-optics, today announces that Roy McBride, Managing Director, will be presenting a paper on Freeform micro-optics for high power laser systems at the forthcoming Photonics West, San Francisco 5-7 February 2019.

Freeform micro-optics are used to maximize the performance of high power laser systems by transforming the properties of the source beam into those matching the requirements of the application. Truly freeform optical fabrication provides compact components that enable array collimation, arbitrary wavefront compensation, transformation of beam profile and beam homogenization with high power handling and high efficiency. This presentation describes specific examples demonstrating how freeform micro-optics deliver functionality and performance that is not achievable with optics made by traditional manufacturing processes.
