World leader in precision laser micro-optics showcases innovative and flexible new fabrication method for high efficiency axicon optics at InterOpto 2018
PowerPhotonic, expert in the field of high precision micro-optics, today announces that Julian Hayes, Sales and Marketing Director, will be presenting a paper on Generating Trident and Bessel Beams Using High Precision Axicons at the forthcoming InterOpto 2018, Makuhari Messe, Japan on 17-19 October 2018.
Lasers are increasingly used in materials processing applications including cutting, welding, drilling and soldering. Substantial improvements can be made to these processes by using a shaped laser beam. Axicons can be used to create a variety of shaped beams depending on the laser source. This presentation will focus on the design, implementation and characterisation of high efficiency axicon optics in UV-fused silica, manufactured using PowerPhotonic’s unique freeform laser micro-machining process.
